LINK at MIM

LINK will be present at the 7th MIM Pan African Malaria Conference in Dakar, Senegal.

The Multilateral Initiative on Malaria (MIM) was established in 1997 with a mission to strengthen and sustain through collaborative research and training, the capacity of malaria-endemic countries in Africa to carry out research that is required to develop and improve tools for malaria control and to strengthen the research-control interphase.

LINK will be holding a symposium on 17 April at 09.30-10.45 Tente B on: Providing the LINKs to strengthen the use of data for malaria decision making in sub-Saharan Africa 

The symposium explores challenges and opportunities of access to, and use of, modelled geospatial prevalence data in sub-Saharan Africa and its role in evidence-based decision making. The symposium will be chaired by Dr Abdisalan Noor, World Health Organization (WHO), Global Malaria Programme and the speakers are representatives from the KEMRI Wellcome Trust Research Programme, WHO AFRO and the Sierra Leone National Malaria Control Programme.

The team are also presenting two posters:

• Utility, value and limitations of malaria prevalence maps in malaria control and elimination: perceptions of decision-makers in Kenya and Malawi (A63 poster session A, 16 April)
• Improving Data Quality in District Level Routine Health Information Systems: a systematic review (A72 poster session A, 16 April)
