Our team

The LINK programme staff comprises two teams, one based in the UK at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and one at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme in Nairobi, Kenya.

The KEMRI-Wellcome Programme has a long history of malaria epidemiology research and the application of geospatial analytical techniques to combine data for decision making, aimed at supporting National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) across the Africa region. The team in Nairobi compiles malaria data from diverse sources to produce an epidemiological profile of malaria of a country. The relevant data are identified, archived, geo-coded and assembled into nationally owned databases. In collaboration with the NMCPs a report and malaria timeline is produced by the London team which is interpreted and disseminated in country to enhance the sustainability of evidence-informed decision making for better malaria control.
