Mali mid-term engagement meeting takes place
The mid-term engagement visit to Mali was held in Bamako on 3-4 July 2018.
LINK held two meetings - one with the team from the Programme National de Lutte contre le paludisme (PNLP) and a second hosted by the PNLP with other partners within Mali.
The engagement meeting was well-attended with approximately 25 representatives from several organisations including: PNLP, Malaria Research and Training Centre (MRTC), USAID/President's MaIaria Initiative, MEASURE Evaluation and CDC. LINK provided an overview of the LINK programme and showed the most recent malaria prevalence maps for Mali which use a different method than previously. Due to complications in collecting data from the north, a call was expressed for any potential prevalence data that might be drawn from the area to be used in the LINK models. This could include surveys, intervention or trial data, grey literature and published articles. There was discussion around how to fill in these data gaps, the difference between the maps and the data they use and vectors.
Plans were made about how to complete the final epidemiological profile and associated products. These are expected to be completed by August.
