Visit from Nigeria National Malaria Elimination Programme's M&E director

Nigeria's National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) Monitoring and Evaluation director at the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr Perpetua E Uhomoibhi, visited the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine for World Malaria Day. The visit included a series of meetings with the LINK project and School staff which were a valuable opportunity to find out more about Nigeria's national malaria strategy. Dr Uhomoibhi also held a seminar on the successes and challenges the NMEP faces in implementing the national strategic plan to eliminate malaria.

An interview with Dr Uhomoibhi will be made available online explaining the work of the NMEP and how it collaborates with LINK in more detail. This provides a interesting insight into the processes, challenges to and successes of the NMEP.

LINK is currently working closely with the NMEP to update the 2013 malaria profile produced in Phase 1 of the project. For more details about the work so far see the Nigeria country webpage
