Design and Testing of an Intervention to Change 5 Food Hygiene Behaviours in Nepal

This poster is a visual representation of SHARE PhD student Om Prasad Gautam's food hygiene intervention in Nepal. It was produced for LSHTM's Research Students' Poster Day, held in February 2014, where it won the Arctec Best Poster Award for demonstrating the use of innovative and creative science in research.

Om's study sought to design and implement a simple, feasible and replicable food hygiene intervention, and assess the effect of this intervention on mothers’ food hygiene practices, on the level of microbiological contamination in food and on diarrhoeal diseases burden. The study also explored how food hygiene interventions can be integrated into nutrition, health and WASH policy and programmes in Nepal.
