Expanding the Mtumba Model: Creating a Product for Scale Up

This report documents the findings of a SHARE-funded, NIMR-conducted study into how the Mtumba approach to sanitation and hygiene demand creation could be expanded as a produce for scale-up within Tanzania. The study took place in rural and urban wards in Geita district, and also sought to determine the social factors affecting the choice of sanitation and hygiene technologies in the study villages and quantify the cost implications of implementation at individual, household and community level.
