Where There Is No Toilet: Water and Sanitation Environments of Domestic and Facility Births in Tanzania

This SHARE-funded journal paper by Benova et al. and published in PLOS ONE estimates that less than a third (30.5%) of all births in Tanzania take place in a setting with safe water and sanitation. This is an important finding particularly in light of the persistently high maternal mortality burden in Tanzania.
