Earlier this month, SHARE partner, Dr Sirajul Islam, Emeritus Scientist at ICDDR,B, was elected a Fellow of the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences (BAS).

Established in 1973, BAS is the most prestigious scientific body in Bangladesh and represents the country’s scientific community internationally. This year, Dr Islam was the only candidate of the 14 that applied to be awarded a Fellowship for his services to sciences. It is a huge honour which recognises his contribution to academia nationally and internationally and SHARE passes on its warmest congratulations for this achievement.
