Effect of a Behaviour Change Intervention on Handwashing with Soap in India (SuperAmma): A Cluster Randomised Trial

This paper by Biran et al. (2014) published in Lancet Global Health summarises the findings of a cluster randomised trial that tested whether a scalable village-level intervention based on emotional drivers of behaviour, rather than knowledge, could improve handwashing behaviour in rural India. The study shows that substantial increases in HWWS can be achieved using such an intervention.
