Marni Brennan
Marni is SHARE's Research Uptake and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. She is responsible for maintaining SHARE's M&E systems to assess SHARE's successes against its indicators. These systems will help to capture case studies of success for the programme and will also help with SHARE's decision making. SHARE's M&E processes will help ensure it is accountable to donors, partners, research participants and other stakeholders. Marni also works on SHARE's research uptake. This involves ensuring SHARE's findings are translated in the most appropriate way and disseminated widely to relevant audiences. This will allow SHARE's research to impact local, national and global policy and practice in WASH.
Marni previously worked for the Wellcome Trust in a variety of roles. These included working in marketing and communications at Wellcome Collection, driving research and policy impact in the vaccines team, funding humanities and social science research, ensuring its impact and evaluating its effectiveness and working in policy and public engagement in Understanding Patient Data.
Marni holds an MSc in Science Communication from the University of Sheffield where she focused on translating science in engaging ways to a broad range of audiences, especially through science journalism. For her dissertation Marni worked in an infertility company; producing journalistic articles and carrying out quantitative and qualitative research into gender-based stigma in infertility and how this influences communications in this area. She also holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Sheffield.
